Terms & Conditions of Sale
|
UK Consumer orders are subject to the following terms and conditions of sale:
|
Returns:
-
We have a no-quibble guarantee for UK consumers! We will take back
unopened software within 10 days of the invoice date. This does not apply to goods supplied to business or educational addresses as these are not consumer purchases covered by the Mail Order Regulations.
- The shrinkwrap and/or seal
must NOT be opened or removed. If it is, we will not take back the software.
- MacGold will not take back opened software i.e. where the seal is broken or cellophane wrap has been removed or tampered with, unless the item has a manufacturing defect. That does NOT include goods that are defective because of misuse or act or omission by the purchaser, therefore, we do not replace scratched CDROMS, you must ask the publisher to do that directly (details are in the manual or on the CDROM itself). All returned items are now tested on receipt. If a returned CDROM is found not to be faulty by our independent test centre we will return the software with a postage charge not exceeding £2.50. We therefore advise you to check the software on a second make and model of computer before returning as software is rarely found to be faulty. "Defective" does NOT mean "incompatible" with your Mac!
- The return of a defective item requires a Returns Authorisation Number (RAN) from MacGold Direct Ltd which is issued by e-mail. Apply for a RAN by clicking here
Warranties
-
All products sold are covered by a manufacturer's warranty. Otherwise, MacGold Direct's, return to base, warranties are as follows:
- Software - the media guaranteed free of manufacturing defects for 90 days from the invoice date.
- Hardware - 12 months from the invoice date.
- It is a condition of sale that the purchaser must return the defective product
either to MacGold Direct or
directly to such UK company as may be
specified by MacGold Direct, or the manufacturer, for warranty exchange or repair.
|
What about items with a manufacturers' warranty greater than 12 months?
After the initial 12 month MacGold Warranty period,
please contact the manufacturer directly in accordance with the instructions on
the warranty included with the product. You must return the warranty card upon
receipt to benefit from the longer term manufacturers' warranty. MacGold Direct
does not warrant any product more than 12 months from the date of the invoice.

The above terms do not apply to business or educational purchases. The provisions of the Mail Order Regulations do NOT apply to such purchases and all sales are final.
