Another month, another number one! This time it is the spectacular Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
Runner up is the new RPG from MacPlay, Icewind Dale, that occupied the number one slot for most of the month. The new number one is followed by a phalanx of familiar titles, all of them previous number ones in past months. The exception being the new release realMyst, which is an attractive graphical re-working of the all-time Mac bestseller MYST.
Aside from these obvious titles a highly significant sixth place goes to The Sims Hot Date. These are pre-orders alone. When it comes out in June we are probably looking at another number one.
The new off-road racing sim, 4 x 4 Evolution 2 is already performing better than its predecessor. The surprise release of 2002, Wipout 2097 is showing at a respectable 13th place. Harry Potter has slipped to 12th as the public interest in the junior wizard wanes. .
Myth 3 The Wolf Age has had a poor month by its standards.

1, Return to Castle Wolfenstein

4, Age of Empires 2 Gold Edition
The sequel to Age of Empires. Includes the Conquerors Expansion pack which was sold separately on the PC. Classic real-time strategy game. Features medieaval civilizations, troops, technology and warfare. Campaigns and random scenario generator. Different styles of games, including against-the-clock. Excellent graphics. Will keep you engrossed for hundreds of hours. Brilliant and a bargain.
5, The Sims
Build, design and furnish dwellings; populate with Sims, guide their careers, help them make friends, and find romance. Fast becoming THE game to have. MacFormat 90%
6, The Sims - Hot Date (due June)
The next add-on for The Sims. The Sims are dating! Get them out of the house and into the all-new downtown area complete with shops, restaurants, parks and a beach. There are over 40 new one-on-one interactions. With brand new characters to meet and date, like the Dream Boat, Lounge Lizard and Femme Fatale, and over 125 new items.
7, Black & White
Black & White is a god game. Packed with strategy, it gives you control of the destiny of an entire world. You must use your godly powers to rule over and look after your people. As you do so they pray to you and worship you more and more, and you use this power, this belief to carry out Miracles and to extend your influence over the world.
8, Championship Manager 01/02
The very latest incarnation of the top soccer management game. Updated and expanded database. Includes database editor. Improved game engine, computer AI and commenttary.Improvements include, attribute masking mode, time to be added at the end of the game is now displayed on screen, the addition of a game diary where you can make notes about players and set reminders. So when you are scouting there is no need for pencil and paper, plus you can set reminders about contract renewals etc. Loads more.
9, Civilization 3
