June 2002 Charts
The June chart is dominated by pre-orders for some really hot games which are due for release in mid-July!
May's easy winner, Wolfenstein, has been battered into submission by four unreleased titles! Medal of Honor Allied Assault has been in the lead since the start of June. But over the last 2 weeks pre-orders for WarCraft 3 Reign of Chaos have been pouring in since we announced that all pre-orders would ship with a free copy of WarCraft 2! This surge of orders has carried it to second place, and within touching distance of Medal of Honor.
The showing of Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds has caught many people by surprise but it shouldn't have really. It's based on the Age of Empires game engine, it has the tie-in with Star Wars movies and real-time strategy is big on the Mac, especially sci-fi - StarCraft is one of our all-time top sellers and the StarCraft/Brood Wars Bundle is still in our Top Thirty after two years!
The Sims - Hot Date is in fourth place. Is the love affair with The Sims ending? Probably not, it simply reflects that many fans got their pre-order in several months ago to guarantee a copy on Day One!
The rest of the chart is full of familiar faces. However, Baldurs Gate 2 Shadows of Amn has put in a remarkable performance this month to get to seventh spot. With the success of this World Cup I would expect Championship Manager 01/02 to climb a few places next month and maybe we'll see a return of Actua Soccer to the charts now that we have been able to source the game again for the Mac.

1, Medal of Honor Allied Assault (due 9/10th July)
Mac conversion of top selling PC D-Day game. 1942-45. Survive the D-Day landings and fight across Europe to the Bridge at Remagen. Over 20 levels of action using the Quake III engine.
2, WarCraft 3 Reign of Chaos [with FREE WarCraft 2 Battle.net] (due 5th July)
Orcs and Humans are joined by the Night Elves and The Scourge, the army of the Undead in this next instalment of the excellent Warcraft series. 3, The Sims - Hot Date (due 9/10th July)
The next add-on for The Sims. The Sims are dating! Get them out of the house and into the all-new downtown area complete with shops, restaurants, parks and a beach. There are over 40 new one-on-one interactions. With brand new characters to meet and date, like the Dream Boat, Lounge Lizard and Femme Fatale, and over 125 new items.
4, Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds (due 9/10th July)

5, Return to Castle Wolfenstein

8, Championship Manager 01/02
The very latest incarnation of the top soccer management game. Updated and expanded database. Includes database editor. Improved game engine, computer AI and commenttary.Improvements include, attribute masking mode, time to be added at the end of the game is now displayed on screen, the addition of a game diary where you can make notes about players and set reminders. So when you are scouting there is no need for pencil and paper, plus you can set reminders about contract renewals etc. Loads more.

11, Age of Empires 2 Gold Edition
The sequel to Age of Empires. Includes the Conquerors Expansion pack which was sold separately on the PC. Classic real-time strategy game. 12, Black & White
