April was very much like March, Doom making the pace and Zero Hour on its tail all the way. Close Combat First to Fight was released during the month and edged out Rise of Nations from the Top Three for the first time. But RoN hung in for 4th spot. Another new release crept into the Top Ten, just! But True Crimes Streets of LA was really disappointing in sales terms, beaten by the likes of Macintosh Board Game Trio. But pricing and perceived value for money play their part in these charts and really there is very little competition in prices on some of the latest Mac games due to trade pricing practices in the UK. These games with artifically high retail prices often suffer at the hands of smaller titles that shift units by being good value-for-money - how obvious is that? Doh!! Look at the performance of Railroad Tycoon 3 - an old title that came 5th on our charts due to our uniquely low pricing on that game - but we had no help from the UK to do it. Watch out for more bargain titles, we'll be doing it again soon!
