When your village is under attack, select the Town Centre and click the Bell icon. This makes all your villagers seek shelter in the nearest Town Centre. What players forget is that villagers will also seek shelter in a Tower if closer than the Town Centre. So when your are choosing a site for Tower don't just think about defence of the village as a whole, site Towers close to groups of working villagers e.g. near mines, lumber camps. That way you protect the inhabitants of your base not just buildings. How often have you rung the bell and seen your villagers massacred, often in sight of the Town Centre, as they make a long way from their place of work to a Town Centre which is under attack. Don't worry about populating these extra Towers with troops. Why? Because Towers have a population limit, so if they are full of troops your villagers cannot shelter inside. But also because each villager inside a building contributes to that building's defence anyway, therefore, not only will the Tower be able to fight enemy units, but it will also heal and protect any villagers sheltering inside. So by placing Towers near your villagers' place of work you prevent them becoming arrow fodder and set up many more actively defended strong points around your village. 15/8 - Anon
Every game starts with a Scout unit. So send out the Scout straight away to expose as much of the map as possible. Use the 'waypoint' feature on the minimap in the lower right corner to disclose the maximum amount of territory. Set your Town Centre as the last point on the Scout's patrol so you can send him out again. 5/5 - Discloser CHEAT! I love the monkey head: gives a VDML, a wierd fast villager that looks like monkey and is useless, good only for scouting
Free Ally: in Random map games, u sometimes get an enemy wanting to join youre team. Just set your stance to ally with that enemy and he will join your team without tribute, it only works once so dont try it if it isnt 2 on 2.

Byzantine are the best civilisation they contain the best technologies. The best way to destroy someone elses castle is not to send your army in but to send about 20 villagers and send them all aaround the castle and instruct them to build the special bombard tower that only byzantines can make. NOTE: make sure that your technology research has al been done before you can build them. Also it would help if the cheat "aegis" was activated because this can speed up the building process. But it work without as well if you try carefully. Good luck with the game from all in gang DK.

If you like arrows a lot, try this trick. Be Chinese and where you need a reinforcement point put a Castle there and make lots (20) of Chu Ko Nu and garrison them inside the Castle and see what happens!
