Peter Weatherson, good partership with Lawrie Dudfield from Hull! Firstly, not many of you have mentioned Julius Aghahowa, he plays in midfield, and upfront, left right or centre, he will be a bit expensive to buy, but boy is he worth it, goals, goals, goals, MOTM's, awards, after 5 or six games he is a key player in your team, after one season he will be by far the best midfielder in the game, he's amazing, on this one game with Chelsea I brought him (my only signing), won the treble with him, he got injured, grrrr, and I came 15th, he becomes indispensable!

Get Arjen Robben (Groningen) and Michalis Konstantinou (PAO) after the first season before another top club does. Robben should cost no more than 2.5 mil and konstantinou no more than 7.5 mil. Play robben in midfield and Konstantinou up front, they are amazing.
Other good players: Joe Cole, Kieron Dyer, Emmanuel Olisadebe, Julio Arca, Christos Patsazoglu, Ifeani Udeze, Juan Roman Riquelme (12.5 mil but often phenomenal), Kaka, Kallstrom, Chun-soo, Bakiricoglu, Hersi, Ricardo Quaresma, Djibril Cisse, Chiotis, Voulgaris, Roy Carroll, Tommy Smith, Mark Kerr, Stephen Pearson, Aghahowa, Assane N'Diaye, Mexes, Defoe, Radoslaw Kaluzny and sometimes Collins Osunwa becomes good (in one of my games he had perfect stats, better than Vieri, in another he was pretty crap). Players such as Robbie Fowler and Jermaine Pennant are good and often want to leave their clubs because they dont get enough football. I've probably forgotten loads of good players...oh yeah, Clayton Zane becomes really good but try to play him a lot, he's a good finisher, header, and you can buy him for about 4mil after a year and its a bargain. Tim Cahill (Millwall) is good, as is Darren Purse (Birmingham). I've only included players who become immense, rather than obviously brilliant players such as Saviola, Vieira, Nesta etc.
tip: there are loads of good cheap young swedish players. also add loads of people to short list, as often although they do not actively say they want to join you, whenever a club offers them a new contract they tend to want a minimum fee release clause, like I got van der vaart for 6m, an absolute bargain.

When you really want to start from your last save, without the hassle of all this alt+tab, just save the game under a different name from your last save, when u restart the game, delete that saved name and continue on your original one, anyway a descent player should take bad results gracefully :-)

Sometimes you really wish you could restart the game from your last save and redo a match. The only way to do this is to press Alt+Tab to minimize the game. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and close the program. Repeat this and wait. Then when it says Champ Manager is not responding, restart and you can start from your last save.
