The magnificence of this game can be seen from space - if aliens invade, we should give them this game, and they will forgive all! Score: 10Readers Review by Michael Sen
Well it's here - the biggest football management sim in the world comes to the Mac, introducing new features from CM01-02. Don't worry - it is still as addictive as usual. In terms of extras, there is, of course, the much talked about 2-D view of the matches, which I've found very useful for finding why you are scoring or conceding goals. The much improved training section seems to be very realistic, with many options available to you as a coach.
Many little improvements have been made, such as the transfer and contract system and the ability to finally praise your players. There is also the much argued about new default background, but this can be changed if you wish back to an 01-02esque style.
For me, CM4 is better than 01-02, but the makers of it have made perhaps too man changes in hindsight. Options on CM01-02 such as filtering players on your team screen seem more intuitive than in CM4, and overall CM4 seems to run abysmally slowly. I have a 600Mhz iBook with 640MB RAM and running OS10.2 but believe me,despite what it says on the box, these are the minimum requirements. I also reccomend getting the updates from the feral website as well, since there are numerous bugs in the game out of the box. But overall, these are minor gripes - CM4 is undoubtedly addictive, undoubtedly realisic, and 100% fun. Enjoy! Score: 8.5
