This slash em up RPG is a must for anyone who enjoyed Diablo II. The system is novel and easy to grasp and while not allowing as great a control over a character as Diablo it nevertheless is enjoyable to use and rarely provides difficulties. The 3D is excellent and the controllable camera ensures that your view is never obstructed during tense moments.
The single player story takes a while to get into and NPC information isn't always as helpful as it should be but eventually it develops well and becomes fairly engrossing. The alternate multiplayer storyline is still accessible to those who cant or don't wish to play with other people and, while being shorter than the single player story, is just as fun.
Multiplayer is really where it falls down due to the Mac format. There isn't a particularly large DS community on the net for Mac users and the game cannot be played with/against people using pcs. However It is highly modable and while on the Mac the actual tools to create your own mods aren't available there are many mods on the net to enhance the game.
All in all a very good game but you just wish it had been made to allow pcs and Macs to play together

What a good job they've done with this game! Graphics are really top of their class even during heavy battles involving twenty characters or more. You won't see a more atmospheric environment in any Mac game. Despite its name, so far I encountered rain, snow, mist, swamps, snow and ice landscapes, deep ravines, thick forests, ice caves and last night I hit a beach! So it's not all subterranean wanderings! The story keeps moving you along, plenty of sub quests. The pack mule is a great idea. In fact, I had two for a long period but had to let 'Goldie' go so I could fit another Mage in my party. I was actually sad to see her go! And wait until you encounter the technologically advanced goblins and their grenade launcher. Tremendous fun, RPGs are back with a bang!!
