I can cheerfully recommend Championship Manager 99/00 to all fans of sports Sims. It is an extremely testing and addictive simulation and is incredible in it realism. You really do feel that you are a football manager going through all the agonies and stress that is so much part of their life. Possibly the only aspect that may disappoint football addicts is the fact that you do not actually see the action on the pitch in Championship Manager 99/00. The significant events in the match are displayed on screen in the form of a running text commentary, but the sound effects of crowd noise and the ball being played about are very real and make you feel that you are actually there. The best way I can describe it is to say it is very much like 'watching the radio'. I am not going to dish out any tips about how to play the game. My only advice to readers of this review is that they should take an alarm clock with them into the gaming room because you lose all sense of time while you are playing this simulation. Finally! The best football management Sim comes to the Mac. I have played Championship Manager 2 on and off for some time now on and old PC and was over the moon when this game was announced by Feral. This port has been done to perfection in my opinion. The game information is so vast it is amazing and as such does have a delay when starting a new game or even saving a game, along with a high hard drive space requirement. However, this is all forgotten once you actually start playing the game, players get huffy and don't turn up for training and now you can NOW fine them a weeks wages or more if you are inclined. Anyone interested in football and want to manage their team then this game is a must, one drawback is that when the matches are played you do not see the game being played as such just a running commentary which you need to watch to decide how your players are performing and how they fit in with your plans!
