This game is seriously addictive. If there's one game that would get you off the Sims, CM00/01 is the one. It makes you feel as if you're the manager of a team more then any other footie manager game. This is soooo much better then any other manager I have been on (probably because the chairman doesn't sack you after a few matches on this)
The game is at the most realistic when you manage a struggling team, then your players who are underachieving get stick from the local newspaper and the supporters want you to get the sack. The game is sometimes really hard which only makes it more addictive. Another good thing is that Man UTD aren't always at the top of the premiership. The game makes it far more open then in real life which means the glory hunting UTD fans don't find it that easy. Unfortunately it is nearly impossible to get Everton near the top of the league in the first few seasons, shame. Another aspect of CM00/01 what I like is the player interactions. Very often one of your players will want to move to a bigger club or wants to be paid wages you can't afford. It is annoying that these are always your best players or a good prospect for the future, this only really happens to clubs like Everton though (just like the real thing then) The only thing wrong with this game is that it doesn't have the database editor which does come with the PC version. [It's a free download - see our CM00/01 Magazine feature for details - Ed] If you have the Sims and you're only going to buy one more game for your Mac make sure it's this one

CM 00/01 is every bit as addictive as the last version. I like the increased feedback I get from the coaches about the performance, skills and future abilities of my squad. Of course, it is nice that the players are with their correct teams once again but I'm looking forward to the release of the new game editor as the real-life transfers are starting to mount! The number of players available is unbelievable and the new performance stats on each one helps sort out the expensive rubbish. Poss best of all is the feedback from players about how they feel, not just when unhappy (which is of course very useful) but also when they are happy. It is more detailed and man-management has been much easier. The last thing I like is on the team tactics screen - you can now set the "mentality" of your team to normal, defensive or attacking. I've had interesting results playing a 4-4-2 Attacking formation with "defensive" Mentality. All the above reasons mean that CM 00/01 is more involving than the last one and even more like being in the dugout!! A must for anyone remotely interested in the beautiful game.
