|
Tron 2.0 is a Mac game from MacPlay.
20 years ago, an artificial intelligence known as the Master Control Program (MCP) threatened to take over an unsuspecting world. Only Kevin Flynn, a computer genius, stood between the MCP and rest of humanity. Flynn was digitised into a parallel universe inside the computer, where the MCP pitted programs against each other in gladiatorial combat on the arena known as the Game Grid.
TRON 2.0 takes place in present day, two decades after the events of the film. Gamers are digitised into cyberspace to battle corruption both inside and outside of the computer world, while exploring locations including the Internet Hub, Firewall, Corrupted Server and Light Cycle Game Grid. In addition to the single-player experience, TRON 2.0 offers team-based multiplayer levels that allow up to 16 players to compete simultaneously.
The game features the voices of original TRON film actors Bruce Boxleitner and Cindy Morgan, as well as actress/supermodel Rebecca Romijn-Stamos who voices Mercury, a light cycle champion. Mercury is a fearless computer artificial intelligence or 'Game Bot' who was created by an unknown user to help Jet navigate the dangers of a mysterious digital world.
TRON 2.0 is a story-driven, first-person action game, combing the best of the genre with a truly innovative look and breakthrough game play. Set in alternative universe inside a computer, TRON 2.0 takes PC gaming to a new level with intense action, virtual villains, fast and furious disc battles and high-speed light cycle races.
Inspired by the story and style of TRON, the 1982 cult film classic, TRON 2.0 is a contemporary sequel that takes place in the present day, approximately 20 years after the events of the film.
