Tetris Elements ** Description |
 |
Tetris Elements is a new twist on the best puzzle game ever invented. The concept is based on the fundamental elements of the Earth. Fire, water, wind, ice and other forces of nature will each provide an exciting backdrop to the wildly addictive game of Tetris as well as several all-new games for players to explore. Developed to stay well within the guidelines set forth by Tetris, gamers will find this game exciting with some added new twists. Along with Classic Tetris, prove you can handle the powerful forces of nature with 5 new ways to play: Fire, Ice, Tempest, Earthquake and Stratosphere.
Tetris Classic Drop the falling Tetriminos into lines to score points and clear your Matrix. The format is the same as original Tetris: 7 Tetriminos and a 10 cell x 20 cell high well. You control the Tetrimino as it falls down the Matrix. Use the arrow keys to move the Tetrimino left or right. You can speed up the fall of the Tetrimino by pressing the down arrow. Use the down arrow to soft drop. Press the spacebar to hard drop and score higher points. Watch the next queue to see what Tetrimino will enter the Matrix. You can hold the Tetrimino that is in play by pressing the Enter key to swap it out with the next Tetrimino or the Tetrimino that is already in the hold queue. The object of the game is to remove lines from the Matrix and score points to survive as long as possible.
Tetris Fire Utilize hard drops to speed up play and get bonus lines that must be eliminated from the bottom of the stack. Hard drops from high distances will stoke the fire. There are three levels of Tetriminos: normal, hot and super hot. The levels of heat are determined by the height from which the piece gets dropped. Only hard drops pertain, as these are the only ones that lock when at the bottom of the Matrix. The hot and super hot heat levels will be clearly displayed on the Tetriminos once they are locked in the Matrix by a red-hot glow effect on the piece. The meter located at the bottom of the Matrix will show you if you are the correct distance to get super hot or hot points when dropped. Super heated completed Tetrimino lines will give you an added bonus by removing lines from the bottom of the Matrix. This means that if you are consistent in the use of hard drops you will create more explosions and the more lines you remove at one time that have superheated Tetriminos, the larger the explosion and the higher the score.
Tetris Ice Dodge falling ice or use icicles to slam and fill empty spaces in the locked lines in the Matrix. There are two types of icicles that form at the top of the Matrix regular and giant. Once they reach their maximum size, they will crack off and fall down to the bottom of the Matrix. Regular icicles will push through the locked Tetriminos at the bottom of the Matrix and take any falling Tetriminos in its path. You can avoid being hit by an icicle by moving your Tetrimino out of the way as it is falling down the Matrix. Any Tetriminos hit by the icicle will slide into any holes directly in the vertical path at the lowest position available. As the levels increase, icicles will form more often. They will also form faster as the amount of ice Tetriminos in the Matrix increases. The giant icicle will fall leaving a layer of unbreakable Tetriminos. The only way to remove this layer is to complete the line directly below it in the Matrix. To remove the white lines, use the other falling icicles to help. You can move your Tetrimino under a falling icicle to force it into holes in your locked Tetriminos. This is a must in clearing the line directly below the layer of ice caused by the giant icicle.
Tetris Tempest You start by playing what appears to be a normal Tetris type game, but every once in a while a tornado wind comes and flips the playing field upside down. You quickly learn that you are playing two Matrices at the same time. When you become an expert you can push the proper Tetriminos to the second Matrix to allow catastrophic scoring. Strong gusts of wind will turn the windmill and allow you to play the other Matrix. If you see the tornado, its a sure sign that the Matrix will be spinning soon. There is not a classic hold in this game the normal hold enter key allows you to pass the next Tetrimino to the opposite Matrix. To master this game you must remember the types of blocks needed for the unseen Matrix. If you can set up the pieces you need by sending them to the opposite queue, you can double your success. Hint: Learn to use wind as your friend. Look for the cues that tell you the windmill will turn soon. Keep an eye on the next Tetrimino and pass ones that you need to the other side for when it turns back again.
Tetris Earthquake Shake, rattle and roll with this wild version of Tetris Cascade that randomly adds garbage and falling rocks to keep things interesting. The objectives of Tetris Cascade are the same as Tetris clear lines efficiently to earn points, except gravity is always on, which cause Tetriminos to fall down into empty areas below when lower rows are cleared. Clearing a line causes the individual parts of the left over Tetriminos to fall into cells below a cleared line. As the blocks fall, they may fill in other lines, clearing that line causing what is called a Cascade. You are awarded bonus points for getting a high number of Cascades. In this version of Tetris Cascade, sudden earthquakes will cause the screen to shake. This will cause a fault to be created, making it harder to clean up the Matrix. Clear lines quickly to relieve the tectonic pressure. Warnings will tell you when an earthquake is going to happen. Listen for warning alarms and watch the meters.
Tetris Stratosphere Bouncing slowly through space, meteors wreak havoc by destroying falling Tetriminos.
- Garbage Meteor (Green) - This meteor will leave random garbage blocks whenever it collides with another locked Tetrimino.
- Breakimino Meteor (Red) - This meteor will destroy Tetriminos as it ricochets off them.
- Breakthrumino Meteor (Blue) - This meteor will destroy any Tetrimino it hits. This meteor only ricochets off the walls of the Matrix. Keep it in play and use it to destroy Tetriminos at the bottom of the Matrix.
- Explosive Meteor (White) - As soon as this super meteor hits a block it will destroy all the Tetriminos in the Matrix. The type of meteor appearance is based on how many lines and consecutive lines are cleared:
- Clearing 3 lines or less will cause a Garbage meteor to fall.
- Tetris clearing or consecutive line clearing will cause a Breakimino meteor to enter.
- Clearing even more lines consecutively will cause the Breakthrumino and eventually the Explosive meteors to enter.
If you find you do not like the meteor that is in play, simply hard drop on it to get rid of it. Try to clear lines in consecutive events. Try not to let a turn go by where you do not clear a line. This will increase the amount of times you get helpful meteors. Try to save a T piece in your hold. It is not only effective for getting a Tetris but it also serves as a great paddle for keeping the meteors in play.
For old-school classic action, there's even classic Tetris!
