For more than 9 consecutive years, the company BSD CONCEPT has concentrated all its resources on the research and development of innovating features designed to facilitate and support the meticulous and demanding work of the confirmed genealogist.
HEREDIS MAC X is a powerful, complete and reliable tool which even the novice genealogist will know how to handle. Its extremely intuitive interface is fully adapted for managing genealogical data and integrates perfectly into the Mac OS X environment. Each item of data will find its natural place in the limitless database: civil status, all the events of life, with witnesses, sources and images, addresses, notes and commentaries, personal references, acts to be researched. The program also controls and helps you with the entry of your data : validity of dates, coherence of data, evolution of family names and of place names over the centuries, personalised data entry shortcuts, permanent control of duplicates.
All the information is displayed on one screen only. A simple click or a 'drag & drop' will take you to any of the different members of your family. You may navigate instantly throughout your ancestors, the witnesses, the friends... A permanent resume displays all the essential information concerning any selected individual. All types of data may be illustrated : individuals, unions, events, places, names, sources, etc. HEREDIS MAC X will recognise all media formats handled by QuickTime.
Numerous genealogical family tree styles are included : ascendant, descendant, mixed, fan style. All the family trees built with HEREDIS MAC X are easily personalised. All the documents which the confirmed genealogist requires are available in the program : ascendant lists (by males or by females), surname lists, genealogical and demographical statistics, cousinhood trees? all including automatic genealogical numbering and management of cases of inbreeding.
HEREDIS MAC X offers a variety of innovating tools. A navigating family tree in 3 dimensions allows an entire genealogy to be displayed on one screen only. This tree has been designed so that genealogists may situate themselves at a glance anywhere in their ancestry.
HEREDIS MAC X will write a CD-ROM directly containing your genealogy including all the individuals of your choice. Your family will then receive a precious gift containing the fruit of all your research, with no problems for consulting or reading the data : which may be read by any navigator (Safari?, Microsoft Explorer?, Netscape?) and presented in a manner worthy of a true professional. Similarly Heredis will build your own genealogy site, ready for publishing on your personal pages.
