Star Trek Deep Space 9 The Fallen ** Description |
 |

The race is on to find the three lost red orbs of the Pah-wraiths, in this Deep Space Nine 3rd person action/adventure game. The Cardassians, the Dominion and the Bajorans - plus a mysterious race of terrifying aliens known only as the Grigari - are all vying for control of these orbs. (The Grigari are sociopathic scavengers and pirates, obtaining items and knowledge from one culture to trade with another, doing whatever needs to be done to close a deal - from trading fairly to mass murder.) The Federation believes that whoever controls all three may have the power to destroy the universe as we know it, so it's up to you - playing as either Captain Sisko, Major Kira or Lt. Commander Worf - to find them first. Fuelled by a massively enhanced version of the award-winning Unreal Tournament game engine, and featuring the talented voices of the TV show's stars, The Fallen fleshes out the world of Star Trek in ways you could only dream about, until now. The story represents an untold chapter of Deep Space Nine, set towards the end of the 6th season.
Three games in one The Fallen utilises a revolutionary multiple-character system giving you three unique and compelling single-player experiences, as either Captain Sisko, Major Kira, or Lt. Commander Worf.
- Co-ordinating as a team, Sisko, Kira and Worf fulfil different objectives within every mission.
- Experience special missions unique to each character.
- Master each character's unique weapon of choice - including Worf's Klingon 'Sword of Honour', the Bat'leth.
- Unravel the complex mystery of the Red Orbs from three different character perspectives.
Adrenalised 3rd Person Gaming Battle your way through knuckle-whitening missions that demand brute strength, stealth, dexterity, team communication and a broad assortment of weapons and gadgets.
- Engage the galaxy's most aggressive races- including the Cardassians, Jem'Hadar, and an all-new race of bio-analogous creatures known as the Grigari.
- Defend yourself with more than 10 new weapons- Starfleet, Cardassian, Dominion, Bajoran, Klingon, and beyond- all with multiple firing modes.
- Track the movement of life forms and scan your surroundings to retrieve critical data using your Tricorder.
- Use your Exographic Imager to see through walls, inside storage crates, and inside life forms!
- And much, much more!
Advanced Technology Energised by an enhanced version of the revolutionary Unreal Tournament engine, The Fallen places the player at the heart of an exhilarating 3D adventure. A sophisticated camera system takes third-person perspective gaming to a higher plane, whether in close quarters or wide-open expanses. A custom-designed inverse kinematics and bones animation system provides fluid character movements and ambulatory dexterity, while a revolutionary facial animation system enables real-time lip-synching and heightened dramatic interaction between characters.
Explore the DS9 Universe The Fallen stunningly recreates familiar locations within Deep Space Nine and the U.S.S. Defiant, as well as a wide variety of unique new locations - including a Bajoran monastery, a secret Cardassian military base, a hostile alien jungle and a Jem'Hadar internment camp. There are 9 missions per character with an average of 3 maps per mission. Although many of the missions take place at the same location each character takes a different path through the levels throughout the adventure. Sisko, Kira, and Worf each have a unique mission set inside the Defiant. The design team has virtually modelled the entire U.S.S. Defiant based upon the floor plans within the 'DS9: Technical Manual' - including many of the areas that were never seen within the show. All the familiar races seen in the DS9 TV show are in the game including, Bajorans, Founders, Klingons, Jem'Hadar, Cardassians, Grigari and Vorta

DSP The Fallen is played in the 3rd person perspective, similar to Rune. Why didn't the publishers use the more familiar 1st person perspective as used in the original Unreal Tournament? They answered that question as follows, 'We wanted the player to see their cool character on screen - who cares if you're playing Worf if you only get to see his hand? Also, we wanted to play up the navigational challenge in the game - grabbing hold of ledges, shimmying across, crawling through vents, etc. 3rd person is the best perspective for this. [Tomb Raider Chronicles also vindicates that point of view]. Finally. we wanted to simulate the look of the show - first person is seldom used in television/film.'
