The first ever Formula 1 simulation to be available on the Mac.
F1 2000 is the only officially endorsed F1 game to feature the 2000 teams, liveries and driver line-ups and enabling the player to customise the grids to match the actual races. Detailed set-up options and a realistic physics engine will please the purists, while many of these options can be turned off to appeal to arcade racers. F1 2000 leaves all previous F1 games on the starting grid with its realistic, adrenaline-pumping interpretation of the world's greatest motor sport.
The recreation of the tracks is remarkably accurate. The additional detail in the mid and far horizon adds much more starch than gamers have seen in previous F1 titles. Tracks like Moans, Spa and Monaco look much more detailed. The sound in this game is incredible too - the engine sounds are trulyÉ realistic.
The game is chock-full of modes and options, ranging from a full season run in which you hope to capture the championship, to a single race for fun, as well as a time trial and two-player modes. If you are a beginner you should consider the Driver's Training course. Just about every mode other than the quick start lets you customise all of the rules and settings to your preference. In addition, F1 2000 lets you pick from all of the real drivers, cars and tracks featured in the actual real-life F1 2000 racing-season schedule. While all these added bells and whistles are certainly nice to have, F1 2000's performance on the track is really what the game is all about.

'The thing I'm most impressed with in F1 Championship is that hardcore racers and beginners alike will be able to enjoy it on different levels. If you're a newbie to racers, find yourself a cheap wheel and start playing through the driving school. After much practice, you'll find great satisfaction in simply being able to make it around a track in one piece without help. On the other hand, racing sim fans can change their car's setup, the computer AI, the weather effects, and much more to their taste. It's this depth of game modes and strategy which makes F1 Championship a very easy title to recommend.'
